Claremont's Project ADOPT Seeks Volunteers

The city of Claremont is looking for service-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals to help keep the community looking its best.

The Project Adopt program is a chance for volunteers to take ownership of the city in which they live in. Participants pick a park, street, median, right-of-way, sidewalk, facility, or other element in the city and then agree to remove litter from the surrounding areas, plant flowers, pull weeds, rake leaves, clean benches, and report concerns, according to the city's website.

The program also will accept ongoing donations to help offset the cost of city employees performing those tasks.  After completing 60 volunteer hours, participants will get a certificate of adoption and a sign honoring their contribution.
