1. Father Robert Hale, a Camaldolese-Benedictine monk, will host “Contemplative Christianity: The Monk Within,” 3 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Place’s Decker Hall, 625 Mayflower Rd., Claremont.

2. Tonight is Friday Nights Live in downtown Claremont. This week’s performances are Dynamite Dawson (soft rock) at the Public Plaza, Give Up the Junk (swing/jazz) at the Claremont Chamber and Steve Rushingwind (Native American flute) at city hall.
