The La Verne City Council will honor the Calvary Baptist High School baseball team tonight after the team won its league championship for the first time since 1986 this season.
Though the team eventually lost in the first round of the CIF Playoffs, the city council saw fit to award the team for its successful season with special recognition at tonight's council meeting.
Coached by Lincoln Dial and assisted by Robert Little, the Cougars went undefeated (8-0) in league play this season.
