Claremont to Participate in Homeless Count

Claremont city officials plan to participate in the 2013 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count.

Claremont city officials announced recently the city will participate in the 2013 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count and officials are looking for local volunteers to help with the effort.

The count is done in partnership with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. Claremont organizers will be conduct their count Jan. 29. Current plans are to have volunteers meet at 8 p.m. at the Joslyn Center for some brief training, maps and materials before the count begins, city officials said.

Teams of two to four volunteers will be assigned to count specific blocks. No walking is required, because all Claremont routes will be counted from a private vehicle, officials said.
