Upland Man Accused of DUI in Rancho Mirage Crash Outside Casino

An Upland man from San Bernardino County was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of DUI in connection with a crash in Rancho Mirage, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded at 10:43 p.m. Oct. 22 to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of Bob Hope Boulevard and Casino Drive, Sgt. Patrick Carroll of the Palm Desert station said in a statement.

"The investigation determined a black Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on Bob Hope Blvd near Casino Drive when it entered the left hand turn lane into the Agua Caliente Casino," Carroll said.

"The vehicle continued straight in the turn lane and collided with the curb, at which time the vehicle became disabled," Carroll said.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was identified as Christopher C. Singleton, age 35 of Upland, and he was arrested on suspicion of DUI, Carroll said.

"No injuries were sustained and it is believed that alcohol consumption was a factor in this collision," Caroll said.

Singleton was booked at Smith Correctional in Banning and released early Wednesday on $2,500 bail, according to inmate records. He has a court date in January in Indio.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was urged to call to contact the Rancho Mirage police Traffic Division at (760) 836-1600 reference case #S12 295 0054.
