Claremont Police said the two had been riding in vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Claremont Police arrested two people at gunpoint today after they were found driving through the city in a car officers said was stolen.

Few details were immediately available. As of 3 p.m. investigators were still trying to sort out the details, said Lt. Mike Ciszek.

What is known is that an officer spotted the vehicle at 12:45 p.m. traveling on Foothill Boulevard, a half block from the Sprouts Farmer’s Market, on 835 West Foothill.

The officer checked the license place and it came back as stolen, Ciszek said. They were pulled over.

The vehicle parked in the Sprouts center lot where officers ordered the passenger and driver out of the care at gunpoint, Ciszek said.
