Pomona police fatally shot a woman tonight, officials said.
It happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 900 block of West Holt Avenue, according to Deputy Irys Alvarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Alvarez said.
Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives were assisting Pomona police in the officer-involved shooting investigation, Alvarez said.
No officers were injured, she said.
A witness at the scene said the woman was inside a room at the Deluxe Motel, and that U.S. Marshals had been observed at the scene.
The woman was an apparent suspect, but it was not revealed why she was sought.
