A motorist died Wednesday in an early morning crash into a tree in Pomona, officials said.
His three passengers were seriously injured, according to Pomona police.
The crash on Garey Avenue, near Lexington Avenue, was reported about 4:15 a.m., according to Los Angeles County fire officials.
The motorist's name was not immediately released.
The passengers were a man and two women; they were taken to UC Irvine Medical Center.
The cause of the crash was under investigation and officials ask that anyone with information please call police at 909-620-2081.
