Updated: Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting in Pomona

Michael William Turner, 27, was killed in the 900 block of Indian Hill Boulevard after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

A 37-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of shooting and killing a 27-year-old man who was walking from his home to a 7- Eleven in Pomona in what police say might have been a gang-related attack.

Detectives identified Arthur Wright as the suspect in Micheal William Turner's slaying and surveillance teams located and arrested Wright in the 1500 block of Cordova Street, police said.

The shooting in the 900 block of Indian Hill Boulevard was reported around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Pomona Police Department.

Turner suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was shot two blocks from his home, his sister, Erin Krystal Burson, told City News Service from the scene.

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in Pomona as he walked from his home to a 7-Eleven, authorities said today.

The shooting in the 900 block of Indian Hill Boulevard was reported around 11:25 p.m. Thursday, said Pomona police Lt. Chuck Becker.

The victim's name is Micheal William Turner, his sister, Erin Krystal Burson, told City News Service from the scene.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, Becker said.

He was gunned down two blocks from his home, Burson said.
