A Rancho Cucamonga man has been accused of committing lewd acts with a minor he met in an internet chat room.
Authorities are asking for others who may have information on him, or for anyone who believes they are one of his victims, to come forward.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Eduardo Estrada, 34, on Monday, Nov. 26 on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and sodomy with a person under 18 years of age, authorities said.
Deputies said the victim is a 13-year-old who Estrada met through a chat room. He was reportedly able to get the victim’s cell phone number from him and had been texting to arrange a meeting, detectives said.
Estrada eventually brought the boy back to his Rancho Cucamonga apartment and engaged in sodomy, officials said.
Estrada is an active member of the United States Army and may have lived in other states, according to investigators.
He was booked into the West Valley Detention where he remains in lieu of $750,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court.
Detectives urge anyone with additional information to contact Detective Silvey at the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station, (909) 477-2800.
