La Verne Man Charged with Molestation

The 75-year-old furniture store owner is accused of lewd acts on a young female relative. He's being held on $500,000 bail.

A 75-year-old La Verne man has been charged with molesting a young female relative in his Fountain Valley furniture store.

Jaime Gonzalez, 75, is charged with one felony count of
lewd acts on a child. Such an offense carries a maximum sentence of
eight years.

The Orange County DA's office says that on Nov. 4, several of Gonzalez’s family members, including a girl under 14 years old, were visiting the shop. Gonzalez is accused of leading the girl out of view of her family to a secluded area of the shop and molesting her. The girl immediately told her family about the alleged incident, and the family told the Fountain Valley police.

Gonzalez  is being held on $500,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment today at West Justice Center in Westminster.

He is believed to have lived in Corpus Christie, Texas, and Covina and La Verne.

Anyone with additional information or who believes they have been a victim is encouraged to contact the police at (714) 593-4480 or Supervising District Attorney Investigator Lou Gutierrez at (714) 347-8794.
