The chase began at 2:22 p.m. Jan. 2. A Claremont officer spotted a 1997 Honda Accord headed east on Foothill Boulevard approaching Towne Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in Claremont, officials said.

When the driver saw the patrol car she sped away south on Towne. The driver led officers through main streets and industrial areas of Pomona before merging onto westbound Interstate 10.

The driver and female passenger surrendered but the male, identified as Tes, ran. He was caught and arrested a short distance away, Vander Veen wrote. The Ontario Police Department airship assisted with the pursuit.

The pursuit lasted about16 minutes and covered some 17 miles, officials said.

Luna is on probation for identity theft, officials said. She was being held at the Claremont Police Department Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Tes is on probation for driving a stolen vehicle and narcotic offenses, officials said. He is also being held at Claremont Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
