2 Killed, 2 Hurt in Single-Car Crash on West Foothill Boulevard

Police said a 2013 Kia sedan carrying four women was eastbound on West Foothill Boulevard when it struck a light pole. One victim died at the scene, and another was declared dead at a hospital.

Two women were killed and two more hospitalized after a single vehicle crash in Claremont this morning, police said.

It occurred at 12:50 a.m. on the 300 block of West Foothill Boulevard, said Claremont Police Department Lt. Jason Walters.

Walters said the vehicle, a 2013 Kia sedan, was eastbound on Foothill when it spun and struck a light pole.

Three of the victims were trapped in the vehicle, Walters said. One died at the scene, and another was declared dead at a hospital.

The two other victims, one of them the driver, were hospitalized in serious condition, Walters said.

The identities of the victims was not available, he said, and the cause of the accident was under investigation.
