Claremont Police Announce DUI Checkpoint for Friday

The DUI checkpoint will run during the night of March 1, police said.

The Claremont Police Department will be out screening for drunk or drug-impaired drivers this weekend, at a checkpoint scheduled for Friday night.

The checkpoint— which will also screen for those driving without a proper license— will run from 7 p.m. Friday, through 2 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

"Drivers will be stopped long enough to ensure they are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol," police said in a statement.  "Officers will also ensure that drivers are wearing their seatbelts and possess valid driver licenses."
