Forecast: Snow in La Verne for "Winter Wonderland"

The city of La Verne will once again host a "winter wonderland" celebration this December-- complete with two 60-foot snow runs with real snow.

Just because we are in the San Gabriel Valley, doesn't mean that there's no chance of snow this winter.

The city of La Verne is bringing the cold to the valley, as they haul in snow for its annual Winter Wonderland event for children 12 and under.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, there will be two 60-foot snow runs and two 30x30 snow play lands set up in Heritage Park, 5001 Via De Mansion.

"Children can choose from a variety of crafts in the craft area, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and doughnuts at 'Mrs.Claus’ Cozy Kitchen,' and of course visit Santa at the gazebo," an event announcement from the city says.

There will be sliding saucers for the kids to play with in the snow, and refreshments, foods and crafts for parents to enjoy.

And for all the entrepreneurs out there-- booths are available for rent to sell things like food, crafts or games.  The deadline for those applications is Dec. 3. (see attached both form, or download it from the city here.)

The event costs $15 per child (includes snow play, snack, crafts and visit with Santa) if you buy your tickets at the city beforehand, and $20 per child at the event.
