Updated 2:21 p.m. Jan. 12, 2013:
Power was fully restored to all customers in La Verne, all of whom went through the night without electricity and its attendant comforts.
Updated information reveals that 1,500 customers were without power until 8:30 a.m. Saturday, when all but 113 remained powerless, according to Southern California Edison spokesperson David J. Song.
By 9:14 a.m., power was restored to all, Song told Patch.
The boundaries of the outage were: Bonita Avenue to the north; Third Street to the south; D Street to the east and C Street to the west.
A failed cable was blamed for the outage, Song said.
A fire in an underground vault was blamed Saturday for an overnight power outage in La Verne, officials said.
The power went out about 11:50 p.m. Friday, according to Southern California Edison officials.
About 2,600 customers -- most of them in the southern portion of the city -- lost power.
Electricity was restored to some customers by morning but some were still without power Saturday and crews were working to restore power to all customers by noon, officials said.
