Cold Storm Expected: Rain and Snow is Moving in Over Claremont, La Verne

A winter weather advisory area for Tuesday and Wednesday includes Claremont and La Verne. A winter storm warning was issued for the San Bernardino Mountains.

Forecasters are warning that a storm from the Gulf of Alaska will move in over our towns tonight and Wednesday bringing rain to the valley areas and mountain snow levels down to as low as 2,000 feet elevation in the foothills.

There is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms are possible after 4 a.m. Tuesday and a 30 percent chance of rain on Wednesday. Daytime highs were expected to be in the 50s in Diamond Bar and Walnut, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm could produce small hail in some areas, according to weather service officials. Nighttime temperatures were expected to dip into the mid 30s.

Several media outlets in the San Bernardino Mountains reported heavy snow in the mountains.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for an area that inlcudes Claremont and La Verne. A winter storm warning was issued for the San Bernardino Mountains.
