Claremont Photo Contest Needs Submissions

The "Parks Make Life Better!" photo contest calls on residents to

Do you frequent the city parks or actively participate in Claremont's recreation program?

If you do and you enjoy taking photographs, the city is hoping you will participate in the Community and Human Services Department's "Parks Make Life Better!" photo contest.

Submissions need to demonstrate how parks improve the quality of life.  Selected photos may be included as a supplement to the Winter Claremont Recreation & Activities Guide, according to the city of Claremont website.

The deadline to submit photos is Sept. 30.  To submit your entry, send it in an email to parks@ci.claremont.ca.us by the deadline with "PMLB Photo Submission" in the subject line.

The following are the categories (one submission per category only and identify which category the submission falls under):

  • Play – Safe, outdoor space
  • Nature – Beauty and serenity
  • Exercise – Healthy movement
  • Positive Spaces – Socializing and learning
  • Forever – Valued today and forever

The submissions also must include the location of the photo and the photographer's first and last name for photo credit. Photo quality must be 150 DPI of greater and in JPEG format.  The email needs to be less than 3MB.

For multiple photos, please send as separate emails. Submitting a photo authorizes the city of Claremont to use it to publicize its programs and services without compensation and without further permission.

The California Parks and Recreation Society created the statewide "Parks Make Life Better!" branding campaign for local parks and recreation agencies to use to raise awareness of how these facilities and programs benefit communities, according to the city.
